Sheraton Lagos Hotel have upgraded their VingCard Essence and Classic locks and now offer mobile access to guests by delivering a digital room key directly to their guests’ mobile devices.
Ideally located near the airport in Ikeja, Sheraton Lagos Hotel welcomes those traveling through Nigeria with reliable service, thoughtful amenities and a prime location. Being surrounded by multiple properties that each seek to gain greater market share within the bustling Ikeja area, Sheraton Lagos decided that they needed to take the initiative in upgrading its hotel services to accommodate growing guest expectations and standards, allowing the property to retain its competitive edge.
Having already partnered with ASSA ABLOY Global Solution’s VingCard brand of lock for almost 30 years, Sheraton Lagos opted to upgrade their VingCard Essence and Classic locks to maximize service and convenience for guests before they even set foot on the property. With the added ability to check in using the Marriott Bonvoy App before they arrive, guests can now have their digital room key delivered to their mobile phone in place of a traditional keycard. This is accomplished by leveraging ASSA ABLOY’s secure Seos technology, a solution that works to encrypt sensitive data using the latest industry protocols. Once generated, data is transmitted to a guest’s device through a secure communications channel and stored inside a digital vault within the Marriott Bonvoy App. When in proximity to the appropriate door lock reader, a secure communications channel is again used to transmit digital key data to provide authorized and seamless access.
By also implementing Mobile Access-compatible Essence and Classic RFID door locks, the Sheraton Lagos Hotel gains additional security features with the door lock’s own use of advanced encryption technology to safeguard against the latest keycard cloning threats.
